Hannah Calhoun

Coach Hannah has more than 18 years of playing experience including USFA World Series and ASA/USA Nationals teams. She was a 4-year starter at the high school level and earned Big Bend selection. She was a scholarship athlete at West Virginia Tech University and started all 4 years. She has more than 8 years of coaching experience including House, Travel, Varsity, & private lessons. She gives private catching lessons, volunteers to support HRYS players through clinics and is an Assistant Coach for Herndon High School Softball. She has a passion for sharing her love of the game through technical expertise and mentorship to her players.

Phil Knoll

Coach Phil has more than 7 years of experience coaching fastpitch at varying levels including House, All-Stars, & Travel. He holds Babe Ruth & HeadsUp certification, has served on the HRYS House Board, and still actively plays softball himself.​

Mike Hedrick

Coach Mike has more than 5 years of softball coaching experience including House, All-Star, & Travel leagues. He has 3 years of HRYB coaching experience at the House level. He has certifications in both Concussion Response and Mental Mindset Coaching. Coach Mike is proud to provide competitive players opportunities to build their self-
confidence, leadership skills, sportsmanship, and fitness in a competitive team environment. He also has served as a member of the HRYS board for 4 years. He has participated in many years of athletics and enjoys hiking, biking, and spending time with his family.

Head Coach 12U
Michelle Bryant

Coach Michelle is the ROGUE program director and joined HRYS from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 2020. She comes to HRYS with more than 11 years of playing, officiating, & coaching youth softball. Coach Michelle played for her Junior High, High School JV and Varsity team as a starter for 5 years. She attended college at NC State University where she earned her PhD in cognitive performance under stress. Always a student of the game, she brings a wealth of training to the field from NCAA players, coaches, and staff as well as from her time officiating. She continues to attend national-level coaching clinics each year to be a trusted source of softball knowledge and mentorship in the community. She provides private lessons, hosts clinics for HRYS, and serves as a member of the HRYS board. She fosters a love for softball and a passion for mentoring youth that fuels young girls to believe, trust, and have confidence in themselves.
